SPAC collaborations
Working with other organizations and networks is key to ISF's mission and goals.
ISF's SPAC Program operates by way of collaborations with NGOs through the following vehicles:
International Coalition
for Sustainable Production & Consumption (ICSPAC)
The Coalition was formed "to provide an effective information exchange and policy advocacy vehicle for NGOs and citizen organizations promoting sustainable production and consumption (SPAC) policies and practices." ISF acts as its Secretariat and maintains its website.
NGO SPAC Caucus at CSD
The NGO Sustainable Production and Consumption Caucus was formed in order to mobilize Major Group input on sustainable production and consumption during the sessions of the Commission on Sustainable Development. ISF's Jeffrey Barber serves as the Co-Chairperson of the Caucus.
ANPED's SPAC Program
ANPED,
or the Northern Alliance for Sustainability is a democratic network
that links NGOs and voluntary organisations in all parts of the Northern
hemisphere, including North America, Western Europe, Central Europe
and Eastern Europe Caucacus Central Asia (EE-CCA). ISF's Jeffrey Barber
functions as a Board Member of ANPED and ISF is extensively involved
with its SPAC program.
Citizens Network for Sustainable Development - SPAC Working Group
The
Citizens Network for Sustainable Development (CitNet) is an independent,
non-profit network bringing together US based organizations, communities,
and individuals working on sustainability issues across the US. ISF
is the current Secretariat for CitNet and ISF's Jeffrey Barber acts
as the Chairperson of the Working Group.
ECO-Forum's SPAC Issue Group
The
European ECO-Forum is network of more than 200 Environmental Citizens
Organizations (ECO) throughout Europe sharing a common interest in Pan-European
co-operation for a better environment. ISF's Jeffrey Barber is the Co-ordinator
of the SPAC Issue Group of ECO-Forum.
North American Sustainable Consumption Alliance
The
North American Sustainable Consumption Alliance (NASCA) is a strategic
partnership of people and organizations who are working to promote more
sustainable consumption patterns in Mexico, Canada, and the United States.
NASCA's mission is to facilitate information exchange, communication
and outreach and collaborative action around sustainable consumption.
ISF is heavily involved in NASCA activities.
